Skeleton, also known as Calaca, is a character prominently featured in the animated film The Book of Life (2014).

He is a significant figure in the Land of the Remembered, one of the realms in the afterlife. Calaca is depicted as a playful and somewhat mischievous skeleton, embodying the spirit of the Day of the Dead celebration. He embodies love and is married to La Muerte.

He is often at odds with his wife La Muerte, ruler of the Land of the Remembered, and shares a playful rivalry with Xibalba, ruler of the Land of the Forgotten. This conflict often leads to wagers regarding the fate of mortals.
